A Festival That Opens Doors to the Future — MATSURI and Anya’s HOME

Festivals have the power to bring people together.

We listen to music, enjoy food, encounter new cultures, and exchange words with people we have never met before. MATSURI is not only about creating a memorable day.

We also believe that the interest and actions of those who gather can lead to a brighter future for someone else—and that a place of cultural exchange can become the beginning of new support and new connections.

From Cebu to Manila

At MATSURI in MANILA 2026, we welcomed Anya’s HOME, an NGO based in Cebu, the Philippines.

Anya’s HOME provides children with limited access to opportunities with meals, language education, health and hygiene guidance, and opportunities for self-expression. Its goal is to help children gain the ability to shape their own futures, regardless of the circumstances into which they were born.

For this occasion, Anya’s HOME staff and three children traveled from Cebu to join us at the MATSURI venue in Manila.

A Place Where Festivalgoers Could Encounter Charity

A dedicated booth at the MATSURI venue introduced visitors to the work of Anya’s HOME.

The booth offered original charity merchandise and accepted donations. Visitors stopped to learn about the organization, speak with its team, purchase merchandise, and take part in supporting its activities.

Rather than separating charity from the festival experience, we wanted to create a natural point of connection—an opportunity to discover and support meaningful work while enjoying the day.

Because MATSURI brings so many people together, it can introduce an organization and its mission to people who may never have encountered them otherwise.

Giving Children the Chance to Encounter a Wider World

The visit carried another important meaning beyond fundraising and raising awareness.

It gave the children themselves an opportunity to travel to a new place and meet people and cultures beyond their everyday surroundings.

They journeyed from Cebu to Manila, walked through a venue filled with thousands of visitors, and experienced new sights and moments. For them, MATSURI was not simply a place where support was received. It became a place where they could share their story and feel connected to society and the wider world.

Just as meals and education open doors, encountering a broader world can expand a child’s sense of what the future may hold.

Support That Begins with Enjoyment

For some people, the word “support” can feel difficult or distant.

But learning about an organization, listening to its story, purchasing an item, or simply telling someone else can all help its circle of support grow.

A person may arrive at MATSURI to enjoy the festival and leave having discovered an activity they want to support. That encounter can contribute to meals, education, and greater possibilities for children’s futures.

MATSURI aspires to be more than a showcase of culture. We want it to connect people with one another, people with meaningful initiatives, and good intentions with action.
